Nice pose and composition

Sorry to steal your bandwidth, but . . is the softness at the upper left and right lower corners a characteristic of this Sigma lens or merely focus blur? I'm thinking of getting this lens and wondering how it performs.

I think this is lack of depth of field. I have tested the lens at 55mm wide open and it seemed as good as the 14-45 wide open at 45mm. I have also tested it at 200mm wide open and it falls off seriously at the edges. I then tested at f7.3 and the edges were pretty good compared to the center. I think in general, it losses some sharpness as you go from 150mm to 200mm (300mm, 400mm Equiv), but I find it usable even at 200mm.
