yalla! means: lets go!. captured at night on khan el-khalili. just like to share these blurred moments, accidentally taken shots. its a bit lomo-like... more 'unconventional'...

origin is not blurred. just add some motion (maybe to much) using lensbaby-effect.

I think this works better than your previous post with the same effect filter because the man is sharp here. As the other one I like the angle here and the blurry effect gives the impression of speed/action. But I get the feeling that this is wrong – the blurriness is for something going away. Here the man comes towards me. Is it just me, or do others get the same odd feeling? Well – I like the picture and I like the effect – maybe even perhaps more than if I had felt that the blurriness went the right way.

Maybe this is in the good, old LOMO-tradition (shoot first, think afterwards), but the result doesn’t look much LOMO to me. I may be prejudiced but my impression of LOMO photographers is that they don’t think at all – neither before nor afterwards – and never have. Great snapshots can be taken by skilled photographers because they have composition and an eye for lines, curves, structure, patterns in their blood/veins and can work almost on autopilot. Last Sunday I went to a photo exhibition and lecture by a Norwegian press photographer (Harald Henden). Once he was covering the conflict between Israel and the Palestine he got shot in the back of his head by Israeli soldiers and he actually managed to take a quite good picture of those who rushed up to help him and his right hand (sharp) while he was falling down/loosing conscience.

caroline

when talking about lomo like i meant how to shoot: shoot first, think afterwards. not the result. its just an artificial effect. as i wrote: maybe too much. i did several versions, but for one reason i liked this best. u're right the background is moving away. while i'm moving forward. with (nearly) the same speed as the biker. just imagine.

interesting technique ...and it works...a bit of noise reduction would help here

I like it, but it looks artificial to me. There is a great sense of speed, but his left foot seems to be touching the ground so, for me, it does not hold together.

It's a great looking shot, but I got distracted by the same observations that Frank has made.

as i wrote before: maybe too much. thats always the problem with artificial effects. yesterday i found the shown ok. today i would prefer this version http://www.zwo5.de/_public/egypt05/_2173444LBsw-copy.jpg with a little less motion. just for fun.

The affect

is good. The removal of the background distraction has worked well.
