Chop about 1/2 of the blank bit at the top off and I'll give it a 10 !

The lighting is wonderful.

hi chris, i thought about cropping before, but the cropped version got a different perspective which doesn t work for me. also i thought about written greetings but the typo causes a less minimalistic effect. so i decided to share the image with the big black...

I see what saying about the greetings. Perhaps you might get away with it with a well chosen font.

Awesome... a 10 for creativity! My compliments... mind if I steal your idea for next year? Best wishes! Scott

God jul!

What a fantastic Christmas tree! So simple and still looking very much like a tree. You really have superb control with the light – not only on this picture, but on most/all of your pictures. I would love to know how you did this (and if I could speak/read German, I would ask you if you could explain *S*).

I agree with you – don’t put any text on this picture and don’t do any cropping (I can’t imagine anything else would work better than this).

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas! :-)

Is this paper?

This is classic. A beautiful image. You are very creative with your tabletop...I need to refine mine a bit after the holiday/vacation scene is over and I have more time...:o)

Holiday blessings to you,

Mele Kalikimaka!

I agree with Chris on this. The light, the control, the idea and the conversion to b&w are all first rate. Asymmetry is admirable, but I am not "wowed" by this exact positioning, or cropping. For example, I have spent three days photographing on abject for a project. Out of 3 gigabytes of RAW images, I have 37 images I like (with 2 or three different conversions of each) and several I have converted to b&w. I could not decide which one was best, and kept changing my own mind. So I asked a good friend her opinions, and we both had a different top 3. In the end we compromised on one as being the "best", but today I am not sure. The "best" may appeal to the most people, but it is not the most creative. In the end, we simply have to decide for ourselves...

Nollaig Shona

This is a classic michael. Well done. You have really developed the table top idea very well. Here's another Merry Christmas for you in Irish - Nollaig Shona.

Tante auguri

Just goes to show that even the strongest clichés can be reinterpreted in original ways.
