Thanks Charles - I've got two more coming in the series - hope you like them too. I appreciate the comment on #2 also. Cheers

intriguing combination of design elements here. The negative space looks like a piece from a jigsaw puzzle. The reflection makes for two contrasts, color/value and architecture.

Congratulations Doug, not only for this image, which I'm looking forward to studying closer when I get home, but also for the fact that you've currently got four images at the top of the home page ("This Weeks images of interest"). I can't help but wonder if even DeeVee has ever managed that.

Thanks DV. It's amazing how clear that reflections is - it's even better in the full size photo. Cheers

Thanks, Clay. My favorite element in the image is the break in the building - which almost cuts the reflection in half. I've never been in the bldg., so I'm not sure what that's for, but it is unique & graphical, especially from this angle. :-)

Chris, I appreciate the comment. Maybe having 4 photos in the Most Commented section is an indication of posting too many "decent" photos and not waiting for the "super" one. I know I would trade all of my so-so shots for one "great" shot - DeeVee doesn't really need 82 HOF photos does he? Maybe he could send one my way. :-)))

Great how the reflections is slightly distorted, even though the building is only straight lines. Where did you take these pictures anyway?

Jimmy, all these photos were taken in Charlotte, North Carolina in about an 8 block radius. With the wide angle lens, I didn't have to worry about getting into the street for the shot I wanted. Cheers

Sometimes processing, for example the type often used for the popular HDR images, can put me off because the image looks so unnatural. But for me, in this image it has been very successful. Perhaps it’s because of the almost abstract nature of the image; but for whatever reason, I like it a lot.

By the way, keep‘em coming. I for one certainly wouldn’t want you only drop in when you thought you had the “big one” to show off. LOL and no I’m not suggesting that it would be a long wait!

Thanks Chris - your comment makes me feel good along with a big smile. By the way, very little PP - I used a filter (for B & W photos) that modifies the green channel and in the process changes blue to various shades of orange. I did add a little contrast - otherwise it's a normal old JPEG. :-))
