Fed, I like the lighting of the village and even the choice of a dark background. What I don't care for is the amount of dark at the top of the photo. I think I would crop it a little tighter - just my opinion. ;-)

Hello Doug Castelluccio this is a village that is located below the highest mountain in my area (Mount Vettore 2476 mt. slm). The Village has a particular morphology "to pyramid" built on a small hill in the middle of a vast plateau. I like to emphasize the particular architecture "to pyramid" of the village and for this I used the first third. The use of telephoto crushes the small town against the side of the mountain, still in shadow, despite the time (around 9:00 am).

A very picturesque village indeed. The black background does highlight it nicely. There are some hints of the mountain visible on the left, adding mystery to this view. Nice!
