i pick brings me joy as primary choice but there are more things involved than just joy AFAIC; there's the desire to visualize in my mind the aesthetics of what I see and be able to capture that image onto pixels; the urge to document one's visual experience through one's daily life; the inner push to create a personal art based upon the tones, hues, textures, shapes, forms , elements provided by both nature (God) and humans.... I voted "other". I am not driven to take photos. I gave it up in 1980 and didn't own a camera for 25 years. I will most likely give it up again.

In a world where I consider a lot of things ugly and unpleasant, I find it a joy to spot and register the gems. It is good therapy.

It's too bad there isn't an "all of the above" option, as I would've picked that. However, I picked "because it brings me joy" because, overall, that's what my photography hobby does for me. When I'm on a "shoot" all the cares and worries of the world disappear. As well, it's fun trying to recreate in pixels what my eyes see.

I use photography as a form of narrative, not only to tell things I see in my own life, but to speak to certain social and spiritual issues important to me.

With the danger of repeating what has been said many time, I say joy is not only the result (sometimes there is frustration and disappointment too) but also what the creation process brings along the way.

Photography is really an art. And being a face painter, I can relate with that.

It does bring me joy most of all, though the creative side of me is blossoming as well. Being a technical person all my adult life, photography opens my eyes to the nature's beauty that surrounds us. Thanks I hope my joy will spread to others as well... Cheers! :D
