Dear Matthew

Rex’s competition idea has given me the freedom to experiment. I chose to do this image because any attempt to do something in your style is bound to raise my game, so to speak, and I think it did. I had a lot of fun and learned a trick or two trying to work out how to do this sort of stuff. I also liked your idea of multiple representations in a self-portrait – there are so many sides to any one of us. It was exciting to explore ideas and try them out! I hope you like it.
