Beautifull detailed shot with the sharpness on the stem, like it.

Gorgeous colours Kathy. To be honest the yellow bit that I can't remember the name of looks a bit oversharpened. The rest is fantastic.

Gives a good feeling of spring the intense orange contrasting the rich purple. Saffron cakes at Easter(end of the week), the warm weathers on the way.

Thank you

Thank you for your comments William and Bob, I am glad you like this.

Adrian, it is hard to believe, but I sharpened this image the tiniest most miniscule bit, and it really did not make the stamen much different. Not that I recalled. I just reprocessed the raw file, and confirmed my sometimes fading memory. I think I used USM settings of 50 .8 and 3 in cs2. I am so impressed with the 50mm macro. So very impressed. When processing images from other lenses there is a noticeable difference when USM is applied, with the 50mm macro, it is negligible. The lens is new to me; less than a week now, but it has been my experience with almost all if not all of the shots I have taken with it. Great lens! That stamen is just that way. Maybe it helps the bees to find it, or maybe it just stands out on a monitor... But now that you mention it, it does look over sharpened, only I didn’t do it. The lens did! And I am not passing the buck

Thank you Martin, for you kind words, warm weather is on the way, maybe. But I hope so!
