Is "Marry" Christmas a historical mistake

Hello all,

because I am not a native speaker, I am wondering about the wishes "Marry Christmas" instead of "Merry Christmas". I used it too, and I saw it on Italian web pages frequently, also on postcards and on English and Italian postings of the song "I wish you a marry christmas" . I know the story about the soldgers on 1914, one of them told the story about his planned marriage
