This is a new mother and she really liked the picture also. She brought her son up to kiss him herself because he was a bit cranky, and I got the shot! She wants me to take photos every month of her childs first year of life. (I should get to know them quite well)
I shot this in the studio with a black backdrop and one strobe light. I drapped the black backdrop over the mom and pinned it behind her. In PS I brought the levels down a bit (to get the black, black) and painted the black wherever it was not totally black. This was of course after I converted to BW.
