I really enjoy 'agricultural' photographs. The power of the natural earth conveyed to the viewer. You haven't changed the actual image just the lighting and tonality aspects, so for me, this still qualifies. I believe this works well.

Note about the foreground... I dunno if it's just me being 'different' but I love a large amount of FG just as you have here. I have taken numerous shots with large amount FG using it similiarly to how you have. To me whats important is what is going on in the FG, which is the lines developed by the wind blowing which leads the eyes back and forth...I particularly like the curve on the RHS that really helps this work for me. Agree with David on maybe too much Blur...just a little too much though. In all honesty it still works really well and I'm glad to see an image with a descending super FG, b/c I'm also a fan. cheers -JP

wow, conflicting views here ...i, like David, subscribe to the rule of 3rd, but i see here the emphasis is on the grass, not the sky (since it could be boring?) so i can live w this compo; the blur is due to the wind and that's good, but i think some of this blur is due to the handholding; a tripod is called for here if i were to take this...i do like the signatures on the face of the field....cheers, ;-))

Thank you everyone. Not sure I agree about the sky. It's not an important element but we need it to be there. Rules are made to be broken aren't they. I do, though, agree about the blur. I guess I'm just too lazy to get the tripod out. Thanks anyway. As always, the more you comment the more I learn.

I came back several times to this picture and I feel the controvery in it. My conclusionj is that I agree with JonPaul on the composition -the large amount of FG is attractive here- but it would be really good if it was a touch sharper.

I like the effect, Adrian, but would prefer to see some sharp features. There's some beautiful sinuous movement in the countours of the crop. I like the conversion. Just an idea: You had plenty of light so - tripod, a couple of exposures at different shutter speeds, cmbine some parts of a sharp exposure with the main blurred exposure. Some nice sharp grass stems in the lower FG could make this pop. The sense of movement - a seething carpet - is great.

Great sens of movement but needs the trees on the horizon to be sharp
