hmm... not a 10
I saw this image on the top of the screen and had to scratch my head. With so many good photographers here, this certainly can't be the best image.
This looks like the typical snap shot taken at a dog parade. Although it may have great personal value to you it is hardly worthy of a 10 value.
So here's the critique. On the plus side, the exposure and focus looks good. On the negative side, it is a very busy image, lots of dogs, people and power lines, etc, in the image. Selective focus could have helped simplify the image. My eye jumps around when looking at this. So it needs to be simplified. Maybe taken as a vertical vs a horizontal would help. I suspect it is worse in color than bw. Another little niggle is the foot of the dog is also cut off.
Please don't get me wrong, this is not a horrible image. I just don't imagine it will be hanging on anybodys wall including yours.

take a deep breath
Response to Jeff,
Are we finished. Thank you for your words of wisdom. And expert critique. I learn so much from you all here. BTW I was just printing this out for framing purposes. Since I was a bambino in photography, My images comanded the eye to move around and see new things upon every viewing, at least that is what many have told me. So thanks for noticing this.I enjoy telling my story and if it evokes an emotion or personal memory for the viewer, I have done my job well.
Onec more Jeff Thanks for chopping my wall hanger into Diggie Treats, mmmm-eye Candy"
This series is nice as a body of work.
I will send you a print no charge so you may live with it if you wish for a while, and possibly see the reactions of your compadres. You may even return it if you like after this non-emotional attached experiment and offering.
I have fun with every aspect of life. See you in the Movies...
Visually, Alwayss, Jeff Eichen

An outstanding parade shot, with so much to look at again. I like the way the shadows and the stripe on the street draws the viewers eye into the frame. Also like the direct gaze of the dod and its owner.

I still come back looking at this image with a smile on my face :) Its a great candid shot and I love the use of the wide angle that makes it pop out at the viewer. Everytime I look at it, something new appears. Thumbs up!
