"Normal" Self Portraits
I posted this image after about 6 e-mails asking me what I really looked like, I guess the Dr. self portrait made everyone curious as to what was underneath all that digital manipulation and makeup. Also to answer your other questions about when I was educated etc. I spent two years at Sheridan College in Oakville in the Applied Photography program and then was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship from Adobe and finished my studies in Tampa Florida in a digital imaging program. I am now working at a prestigious advertising digital-manipulation and retouching studio in Toronto, and have dreams to have my own studio and start to shoot commercial or fashion images by the time I'm 25 that gives me four years... I will try to post a few forums on techniques and such for those who asked... thanks... Us Toronto E-1'ers really have to hook up for coffee though! Cheers, Matt Selected for the Hall of Fame on 2004/Oct/01

mad skills...
composite is wonderful as always, matt. i have to say i'm disgusted to know how young you are. i wish i could have been as focused at that age, well...i guess i was focused on something...she was like a black hole that sucked my life away. just kidding. ;)

I agree with John...
...except for one thing. I met my wife when I was 20. She is a black hole since she is now divorcing me after 30 years. Be smart. Stay single and focused on your art and career.

Bright Future...
It's surprising, but not that surprising, that such talent and creativity is coming from a 21 year old. Fortunately you've applied yourself by this age sooner than most 21 year olds would...and it appears as though this will be leading you to very, very good things. I really congratulate you on your successes.
Regarding coffee, I've created a group for us Toronto residents so we can catch up some time in the summer. I'd encourage others to create such groups too so we can meet up when travelling abroad. That would be interesting for sure!

Thank you Matthew..
.. for sharing some about yourself and your education in photography. You have world class talent. Hope all your dreams come true for you. Go for it!! I look forward to your technique forums if you get a chance to post some. For myself I think its time to look up and see what is available for a bit of focussed learning. Many thanks again.
Best wishes,
Eugene.

Great bit of work Matthew! Once again you've inspired us to work harder, learn more, and achieve greater heights with our photography. Continued success, as we look forward to seeing more of your craft.

There's a part of me that envys you for getting paid to create such great stuff all day long. But I suspect that when you look at it from inside it gets down to hard work, like most other jobs.
You sure have talent AND creativity. I'm looking forward to more of your work as well as your tips.
