Magic
No sooner than I comment and you fix it.
I am not sure about this. I will be interested to see the comments of others.
I find the treatment a bit harsh with the blown out highlights. I think I could get to like it on the basis that the end blown out bit might be a representation of the white light that summons you when you die. So perhaps there is some special meaning.
(This is a two glass of sherry comment) :-)(

Thanks Rex
Rex, thanks for the critique. It's my first post and havy only really just got into photography. I was trying to expose for the columns... the photo I'm going to up-load tomorrow is far closer to what you're talking about. Thanks again, J.

Thanks for coming back
Well it is normally a big NO NO to have such large areas blown out like this. It snatches the eye away from the rest of the image.
You can use RAW and adjust exposure for the shadows, save the image; adjust for the highlights, save the image and marry the two. Possibly the dynamic range here would exceed that technique.
I kinda like my feeling of being beckoned by the bright light down the isle.
Welcome to the site and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Is it the Sherry
or was there an isle when I first commented?

NO SUBJECT
much to large for my display. like the composition and the tint. BUT can't befriend with the too much blown doorway. unsure about shadow parts may too much shadow/highlight corrected. if it was shoot in RAW I would try to do some DRI (dynamic range increasement) or HDR (http://luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/hdr.shtml) with PS CS2 to get a less blown doorway. don't know if it works because it looks very blown and I don't know how the origin shot looks like.

Thanks Michael
Thanks for the honest critique. All points taken... the original was a .orf file, so I'll have a play and see what I come up with!
Thanks, again,
J.
