Forgive me for saying so Chris, buts that is a terribly bland commentary for what looks like might have been the end of the world.

Great shot. Perfect for B&W.

Great shot and like the conversion...maybe little to much tinted but thats just my taste.

Andy is right: we're in Dorothy and Toto territory here. Very menacing shot well captured. This would work as a dustjacket shot for a gothic novel.

Imposing compo and mood.

It's a strong image, Chris, but doesn't move me to the same extent as the other commenters. The limited tonal range leaves me wanting more punch. If the brightness and contrast in the illuminated portions of the clouds was lifted a notch or two, I think it would be much stronger. To me it looks muddy. Sorry. Best wishes.

No need to be sorry Rob I appreciate your comments. I might well give your suggestion a try.

Andrew, I was actually hoping the comment was going to come across as understated.

I'd hate to say something like "hey look at these fantastic clouds" and then provoke a response like " where are they"!

Dee, Robert & Denis. Thanks for your kind words.

Dorothy & Toto Ferd, I had to look that one up! :) Though I did wonder if you meant the Wizard of Oz as I remembered Dorothy, but I didn't Toto the little dog.

Thanks again Ferd and all.

Apologies, Chris. Dorothy & Toto was a very American reference; I should have explained more!

It's now dark in my computer room.

The image no longer looks as muddy as it did earlier. I still think a notch or two extra brightness and contrast in the lit area would be good, though. Cheers, Chris.
